Settings

Damson has a full settings UI. Themes hot-reload (including light/dark switches), so you can tweak and see the result immediately. Here’s what you can configure.

Text & font

• Font family and size
• Ligatures — programming ligatures on or off
• Double-width icons — render oversized Nerd Font icons at natural size (details)
• Ambiguous-width symbols as double width — give circled numbers/letters and similar CJK-font full-width symbols two cells (details and trade-offs)
• Custom word separators — control what double-click selects

Theme & appearance

• Theme with light/dark hot-reload
• Background opacity and blur — translucent windows over your desktop
• Padding — horizontal and vertical insets around the grid
• Transparent tab bar
• Scrollbar visibility
• Screen effects — optional CRT-style effect with adjustable intensity
• Glyph appear / disappear animations

Cursor

• Cursor shape (block and others)
• Cursor blink on or off

Panes & tabs

• Tab bar style and tab transition style (slide / spring settle)
• Active-pane indicator — e.g. dim the inactive panes
• Focus follows mouse
• Animations — global on/off
• New-tab directory — where new tabs and panes start

Scrollback & input

• Scrollback lines (default 10,000)
• Restore scrollback on relaunch
• Scroll speed
• Copy on select
• Press and hold behavior

Updates

• Automatic updates (Sparkle) on or off
• Check for Updates on demand, under Advanced
